Jen strives to cultivate a safe environment in which to explore vulnerabilities and expand upon natural strengths and resiliencies. She works collaboratively with clients to develop a plan that feels authentic and accessible to each individual, and draws on cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), solution-focused therapy, and interpersonal therapy.
Jen enjoys supporting clients as they navigate life transitions including the death of a loved one, separation/divorce, and career changes. She is also experienced in working with clients who have perinatal mood concerns, including infertility, pregnancy and infant loss, and adjustment to parenthood. Her approach focuses on holistic health and relational well-being. She considers diet, movement, and mindfulness as essential elements to restoring a sense of balance and genuine connection to self and others.
Jen completed her Master’s degree in Social Work from University of Chicago, School of Social Service Administration in 2009. She has received specialized training through Postpartum Support International and is certified in perinatal mental health (PMH-C). She has also received training through Share Pregnancy & Infant Loss Support. Jen has spent most of her career working in community hospice and hospital settings.
